Village scene - in hand chiseled wooden frame - framed 28 9/16" x 20 11/16" - unframed 24x16 - signed. I think it's oil on mason board but it could be acrylic; I'm not really sure. 1968.
(1903-1988) Born in 1903 in Port-au-Prince. After a formal education and a job as an agricultural agent with the government, Ducasse turned to painting after losing his job in 1948 due to lack of funding. Painting had been an interest of his since childhood. His work can be found in the permanent collections of the Musée d’Art Haitien and the Milwaukee Museum of Art, and has been published in Haitian art books.
